Hannah Green Wins LPGA Tour Title for Second Time at Women's World Championship (2026)

The Battle for the LPGA Crown: Hannah Green's Triumphant Return to Singapore

In a thrilling showdown at the HSBC Women's World Championship, Australian golfer Hannah Green emerged victorious for the second time, edging out a strong challenge from American Auston Kim. This victory solidifies Green's dominance on the LPGA Tour, but it wasn't without its fair share of drama and controversy.

Green, the 2019 Women's PGA Champion, faced a tense final round. Despite an erratic back nine with a mix of birdies and bogeys, she managed to hold her nerve and secure a one-stroke victory. With a final round score of 69, Green's total of 14-under 274 at the Sentosa Golf Club was enough to keep her ahead of the pack.

But here's where it gets interesting: Green's win came after a remarkable comeback. She had to overcome a late charge from Kim, who had an eagle and six birdies in her round. However, bogeys at crucial moments, especially on the par-three 15th, cost Kim the title, leaving her at 13-under 275.

And this is the part most people miss: the battle for third place. Minjee Lee, who shared the lead with Green before the final round, had a frustrating day with a level-par 72. She finished tied for third with Angel Yin and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, both of whom had impressive rounds.

The top-ranked Jeeno Thitikul, fresh off her win in Thailand last week, had a disappointing 73, finishing tied for 31st. Meanwhile, defending champion Lydia Ko managed a 72, just one shot behind Thitikul.

England's Charley Hull, Mimi Rhodes, and Lottie Woad all had strong performances, finishing in a tie for 10th place. Hull, in particular, had a solid final round, going three under.

The 72-player tournament, without cuts, was the second leg of the LPGA's Asian swing. Next up is Hainan Island, China, where the final leg will be played.

So, what do you think? Was Green's win a testament to her skill and resilience, or did Kim's late charge almost steal the show? And what about the battle for third place - did Lee's inconsistent play cost her a chance at the title? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
