Imagine Cathy in vibrant red garters! While such an outfit might have been unconventional in the time of Emily Brontë, it’s certainly within the realm of possibility for Margot Robbie.
After transforming the landscape of press tours with her stunning style choices for Barbie alongside her stylist Andrew Mukamal, it’s no surprise that they have something spectacular planned for Robbie’s promotion of Wuthering Heights. This dynamic duo has collaborated with renowned fashion houses like Chanel, Thom Browne, and Schiaparelli to craft looks that resonate with Brontë’s literary essence—or perhaps more fittingly, a modern twist on it. Their most recent achievement? A jaw-dropping archival piece that truly stands out.

At the London photocall for Wuthering Heights, Robbie made a striking entrance in a remarkable ensemble from Galliano’s iconic collection. It was as if the carefree spirit of Penny Lane collided with the elegance of Empress Joséphine; she wore a floor-length toile coat adorned with soft pink shearling at the cuffs and around the neckline. Staying authentic to the original runway presentation, she paired this coat with a daring black micro miniskirt and a garter belt that connected to bold red thigh-high stockings, elegantly tied with a pink ribbon.
The only significant alteration in her styling came through her footwear choice. Rather than the classic two-toned shoes sported by Helena Christensen during the “Napoleon and Joséphine” runway show, Mukamal opted for a pair of custom Malonos in a light silver shade with pointed toes, adding a contemporary flair to the vintage aesthetic.
Just as the film embraces unconventional costume designs, Margot Robbie is fearlessly pushing boundaries with her approach to dressing for these promotional events.
