The BRIT Awards 2026 with Mastercard have announced Noel Gallagher as the Songwriter of the Year. Beyond Oasis, Noel's solo albums have also been critically and commercially successful. Noel has multiple BRIT Awards and an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection to his name, and he will accept the Songwriter of the Year award in Manchester on February 28th. The BRIT Awards 2026 will be broadcast live from Co-op Live, with a star-studded lineup of performers, including Mark Ronson, Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, and Wolf Alice. The public vote is open for Song of the Year and International Song of the Year, with voting taking place on WhatsApp. The BRITs also announced nominations for this year's awards, with Olivia Dean and Lola Young leading the pack with five nominations each. Hollywood and K-Pop artists are also represented in the nominations, and Scottish singer/songwriter Jacob Alon won the BRITs Critics' Choice award. The BRITs Fringe, a program of engagement in Manchester, will celebrate the city's musical heritage and the next generation of UK music. Award-winning comedian Jack Whitehall will host the ceremony, and the BRIT trophy, designed by Matthew Williamson, will be awarded to the winners.
